Support a Student

The late Nanaji Deshmukh, an eminent public figure of the second half of the last century, founded Deendayal Research Institute (DRI) to validate the philosophy of Integral Humanism. Among his various projects, the most prominent is a rural development model that he evolved through DRI in the villages within a 50km radius of Chitrakoot – the abode of Lord Rama for over 11 years during his exile. The area falls both in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Chitrakoot, in the Bundhelkand region of central India is a predominantly tribal belt. It was one of the most backward and underdeveloped regions in India when Nanaji chose to work there in 1990. Thanks to his vision and dedication, the Institute has proven to be the catalyst of growth in the area.

One of the key elements in the campaign and the basis for sustainable development is the education and training of children. Towards this end Deendayal Research Institute runs 4 schools in the Chitrakoot area.

Three of them are residential and cater to the needs of children from scheduled tribes and castes free of cost.

They are currently partially funded by the Government. However, as Government funding policies are changing, the the Government no longer wishes to support schools run for the special needs of the children in the most backward areas, we are looking for contributions towards their care.

You can contribute to support the education and care of a child in any of our schools:

Krishna Devi Banwasi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya – A residential girl’s school for 120 girls from tribal families.

Ramnath Ashramshala – A residential co-educational school for for 200 tribal children located in Chitrakoot.

Parmanand Ashram Paddhati Vidyalaya – A residential co-educational school for 100 scheduled caste children located in Ganivan.
