Jan Shikshan Sansthan is a vocational training institute for adults (for age group of 15 to 35) that conducts courses aimed at skill upgradation. It was established in Beed district in 2004. As Beed district is known as sugarcane workers district, there is need for entrepreneur skills training, that can promote self employment for workers. Surveys are conducted in slum areas and villages and need based courses selected.
Courses conducted include Beauty culture health care, cutting, tailoring, macrame knitting, mobile repairing, andAC fridge repairing. 32,000 beneficiaries completed trainings and more than 9,000 beneficiaries are earning money with self respect through self employment.
JSS Beed works in all 11 Blocks of the District.
Awareness program are also conducted.
